The back story

Over the course of my career, I have been involved with many large-scale tech projects as both a delivery manager and an experience designer.

After many years in corporate roles, I decided to strike out on my own in 2017. Unbeknownst to most, InFlow actually started out as a product company.

We were working on a virtual reality tool that would enable users to capture a customer journey as an immersive, 360 degree experience. Long story short, the product never saw the light of day. Why? The product suffered from too many changes in focus and thus, our budget was exhausted.

I spent time reflecting upon the numerous successful projects I was involved with over the course of my career and observed what separated these from the rest.

The ability for project teams to get the concept right upfront—during the earliest stages of the project by understanding their users first and subsequently working backwards to the technology—made all the difference.

This inspired me to create a unique framework for helping digital project teams ensure they are solving the RIGHT problem, the RIGHT way before they invested significant time, money and energy into delivery. Thus, the Concept Canvas was born and InFlow pivoted to a service-based company. This was the beginning of InFlow Labs.

All of InFlow’s services utilise this framework at its core. The Concept Canvas helps teams innovate and experiment with solution concepts with much more confidence and thus, increases their odds for success.

InFlow has worked with the likes of Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Suncorp, Queensland state government departments, Supreme Court Library Queensland and many more helping them create world-class user experiences by ensuring their projects are solving the RIGHT problem the RIGHT way upfront.
